Fast, Easy makeup

Inspiration for this look.

What I used: Light peach eyeshadow(any light tan, beige, white or pink can be used), liquid liner ( Maybelline line stiletto brown-black), mascara, dark brown eyeshadow, white eyeliner, blush (Maybelline woodrose), lip gloss (Beauty Rush strawberry fizz).

  • I started by putting on the light eyeshadow, this just gives a nice bright attraction to your eyes, with a natural look to it.
  • I then put on the liquid liner, I tried doing it like it shows in the top picture to get that very sultry look. I then ran the dark brown shadow over the liner to give it a fuller darker smokier look.
  • I also used the dark brown shadow on my bottom lash line only to about the middle of my eye, going from thick outer and thinning towards the middle.
  • I used the white liner on my water line to make my eyes look bigger.
  • I put mascara on like normal
  •  I put a little bit of blush on my cheekbones
  • And I finished it off with light pink lip gloss to my lips
This look only took me about 20 minutes to do, and I think it looks fabulous!

Clean eating- Banana bars

Banana Bars

1 cup oats
2 medium ripe bananas
1-2 Tbsp honey
1tsp cinnamon
2 scoops vanilla whey
2Tbsp natural peanut butter
3 egg whites
Almond milk/fat free/skim

Mix dry ingredients. Add wet ingredients adding milk last, just enough milk to make a runny batter. Bake at 350 until toothpick comes out clean. I did mine in a 9x9 pan and it took just under 20 mins. They came out super moist and nearly chewy!. I left some as bars and made a flat bread pb and honey sandwich with the last bit. Next time I may add chopped nuts or use chunky pb. You can always add splenda if you like. Remember not to over-bake since whey will dry this bread out quickly!

Wedding

Well pretty crazy couple weeks for me, just getting married and all. That's actually what I want to write about today. I planned my wedding all by myself, I tried to make everything as cheap as possible but still nice enough for a wedding and within my theme, which was vintage. I found tons of ideas on Pinterest.

For my centerpieces I did a photo in oil in a mason jar. It turned out really cool. This is how mine turned out and the link to how to do it  http://www.augandeverythingafter.blogspot.com/2009/08/diy-vintage-pictures-and-mason-jars.html

Now for the smaller centerpieces, I bought pint sized mason jars filled them half way with sand and put a candle in it, wrapped with twine.

On to boutonnieres...

They turned out pretty well, And super cheap! I got 8 boutonnieres out of 3 bunches of baby's breath, for only $9! I think the twine was maybe $5? and I used it like crazy in my wedding and I still have half a roll!

For the unity candle.. Here is how mine turned out and the link to where I learned it from..
The unity candle in total probably only costed $10

For Favors I did s'mores, having a summer wedding gave me the idea that s'mores would be a cute idea, and with the cute saying "S'more Thanks!" so this is how mine turned out
To make 200 of them it cost about $85 including the bags and cards.

I also made my bridesmaids bouquets, I just bought some higher end fake daisies and wound them together with flower wire then wrapped them in ribbon. maybe costed 4.50 each.

I'll probably keep adding on to this blog as time goes on and I realize what more I did to have a nice cheap simple wedding.

Makeup

I think makeup is like any other hobby or talent. The more you do it the better you get at it. I started doing my make up just as a hobby back in 2011. I always get asked if I went to cosmetology school because of how good I got at it. But I have watched a lot of youtube videos and just practiced and experimented. Learned techniques which I'll share with you today.

  • Biggest tip: BLEND BLEND BLEND!

  • For blue eyes: Golds and coppers are the best colors to use to bring out your eye color. If you ever use blue shadow try to use a lighter or darker blue than your eye color. Pink is also a good color for blue eyes.

Gold & Copper
Pinks

  • For green eyes: Pinks & Purples bring out green eyes the best.

    Purples

  • For Brown eyes: Blues, Purples, and Greens are the best to use.
    Blues

    greens

  • For Hazel eyes: I think Hazel eyes can seriously pull off any color.

Everything for Hazel

All eye colors
My example of unblended makeup and how scary it can look.

  • Always remember to blend the shadows together, it looks too sharp otherwise. I've found that using white shadow to blend colors works best.

  • Blending bronzer into the skin and blending blush in to bronzer is very important otherwise it will turn out looking like streaks on your face or a big bruise.

  • Coloring in eyebrows, try using a non-shimmering eyeshadow that matches your hair/eyebrow color the best. Use an angled brush. Keep q-tips close to wipe off any out-of-line marks.
    Angle brush

  • Lip liner: NEVER use a lip liner more than 1-2 shades darker than the color lipstick you are using. Also, blend the lip liner before applying the lipstick. If the lipstick you are using is oily and comes off easily, try powdering your lips first.

  • Applying falsies: Curl lashes, apply one coat of mascara. match up the lashes to wear you'd like to place them to make sure they fit your eye properly, if they seem too long you can snip off an end with scissors. Apply a small dot of glue on the corners of your eye wear the ends of the lashes will be sitting, Then apply the lash glue to the lashes and blow on it a few seconds to get it a little tacky. Try to get the lashes as close to your lash line as possible. If it's easier try holding the lashes with tweezers.  Using the tweezers press the edges of the lashes to wear you need them to set. Once the glue is dry, using your eyelash curler softly give the lashes a little press. Use another coat of mascara. Here is a youtube video from where I learned to apply them, Via Cherry Dollface.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fAyPzTu1O9Y&feature=c4-overview-vl&list=PLxIfuFcsAcUJwZmL7NdRMl1SAGPCNpM_4

  • Getting your eyeshadow to stay all day and blend easier, try using a eyeshadow primer. It also helps with making the shadow brighter.

  • Try using a natural looking blush, peach or light pink. Some blushes can be too dark or too bright and you end up looking like a clown. Same goes with lipstick.

  • Bottom lash liner: This is where I have a big pet peeve about makeup. NEVER EVER use liquid eyeliner on your bottom lash EVER. Either use pencil liner on your water line or use an angled brush and line your bottom lash with a natural looking (browns or black for more dramatic look) eyeshadow, It looks so much more natural and not so overwhelming and dark.

    Highlight (white) and Contour (brown)
  • Highlight and Contouring (Bronzing): This can  improve your facial features dramatically. If applied and blended correctly. I will post a picture to the places to highlight and contour. Contour: Around forehead (blend into hairline), sides of nose and tip of nose, under cheekbones, under jaw and down neck. The picture also shows highlighting and contouring your collarbones. If you are wearing a lower cut top and would like your collarbones to be more pronounced than it would be good to try. Make sure to BLEND!
Before and After (Picture is not of me)

  • Applying white liner to the water line can make your eyes look bigger to where as black on the water line makes your eyes more closed and dramatic.
I picked Adele because I love her and think she's gorgeous!

  • Last but not least, Matching the colors of shadow/lipstick to what you are wearing can make or break a look, so be sure to check yourself out before walking out of the house.

Katy Perry's stylists are amazing when doing her outfits and makeup, they do such an amazing job at coordinating.

Well that's it for what I've learned about makeup and techniques. Feel free to message me with any questions! Thank you all for reading, hope you enjoyed!
